Due to SFAR 73 you need to do a minimum of 10 hrs of flying before you can act as PIC in a Robinson Helicopter. Since most flight schools in the US uses Robinson Helicopters a lot of our students chose to do their instrument rating in a Robbie. I have done a lot of R22 transitions now. In the beginning I did not like the Robbie at all. There are absolutely no room for error and you have to guard the controls at all time. But now after more than 600 hrs in these helicopters and I don't know how many autorotations I do not mind them anymore. I did the R22 transition course with the following students:
