I do not have exact numbers for how much I used for food etc. General the prices are the same as they are in Denmark. Walmart is probably the cheapest place to go grocery shopping - it is kind of like "Bilka" in Denmark. It often take a lot of time though to go to Walmart. And since I don't like shopping I often went to Publix because it was faster. Publix is like "Kvickly" in Denmark. One thing I really liked in FL was that you could go shopping whenever you wanted to. Walmart and Walgreen's are both 24/7

Expenses to my car!

I bought a Pontiac Sunbird 1993 - From Larry Cassel on US1 (just South of Golden Knights Blvd to your right hand side). If you see Larry say "hello" from Bertha (the girl with the grey Pontiac with manual gear shift). You can see a picture of my car here.

It was a really good car. I never had an problems with it in the two years I were driving it. Unfortunately it would be too expensive to bring my car home to Denmark, so I sold it to Stig just before I left.

  • Pontiac Sunbird
$ 2,300.00
  • 6% TAX + license plate
$    300.00

Total

$ 2,600.00

  • Insurance (1/2 year)*
$ 500.00
  • License plate tag**
$   35.00
  • Fuel (full tank)***
$   30.00 (price when I left in April 2005)
* My first roommate and I had our cars on the same policy to make it cheaper for both of us! We used Progressive Car Insurance. I think the new name is Drive something!
** You need to get a new "sticker" for your license plate once a year. - It expires on your birthday and if you do not have a current one you might get a ticket!
*** The car holds 15 gallons and drove approximately 33miles/gallon.
